About Me:

Rudolph Allen was born in Kingston Jamaica, West Indies, and has been living in Canada for many years. His early education was at Kingston College in Jamaica, and he received his B.A. Hon, from Sir George Williams University and his M.B.A. from Mc Gill University.

Prior to writing, he has worked in business at the Bank of Montreal, Head Office (Montreal), for the federal government at Statistic Canada (Ottawa) and as a consultant for Computer Science Canada (Montreal). Allen's poetry has appeared in The America Poetry Annual'90, Midwest Poetry Review '91, The National Review of Poetry '91, Koala '92, Revue Noir '98.

His short story, My grandfather and I has been anthologized in Fiery Spirits '95 and reissued in '98 in Fiery Spirits & Voices, published by Harper Collins. Things Were Never The Same, was published in Story Magazine'92. Allen has read at the Universities of Toronto, York and Humber College Creative Writing School.

Presently he lives in Toronto. Forthcoming works include short stories: Island's Tales and Other Stories, Fall 06 and poetry, An African Odyssey, 06.
