Privacy Policy for Business Partnerships Canada.

This is the Privacy Policy for businesspartnerships.ca. It holds for all pages on this site, and only on this site—pages reached via one of the external links are not obligated to hold to our principles, and you should check their individual Policies.

INFORMATION COLLECTED

We currently collect basic information at the webserver level, e.g. hostname, browser type, date/time of access, whether the page request was successful. We make no attempt to correlate this data with specific users, and only use this data for the purposes of site maintenance and improvement. For instance, we may discover that an area of the site is being ignored, and may choose to alter the content so that it is more useful to the visitors.

When you create an account, a valid email address is required to ensure that it is a live user and not a script that is creating the account. When a user (logged in) sends you a private message, the system will use that email address to notify you that a message awaits you. Your email address may also be used to notify you of changes to this privacy policy.

Your user name and password are used to attribute your posts to the forum and your content edits. Your first and last name as well as your company name and URL are visible on your profile page.

You choose who to share the contact information you enter with. If you opt to list a user as a contact, they will be able to see the business address you have entered, but not your email address. You must choose to send this information to them separately; they can contact you through the private messaging functionality.

This information will not be sold or otherwise distributed to third parties without your express permission (such as by listing them as a contact).

COOKIES

Cookies are used to issue you a randomly generated session id upon landing on the site (if cookies are refused, it will use a variable in the URL instead). This cookie is solely to establish whether or not you are logged in and it is valid until you close your browser. This prevents you from having to enter your user name and password each time you access a protected page.

When you log in, you are presented with the option to maintain your status (logged in) between visits to the site. In this case, a second cookie is placed on your computer (which stays with you until you choose to log out). It is a randomly generated 50 character string, bearing no correlation to your data except through our system.

CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS

It is possible that this page will be updated. In the event of updates and/or changes to our policy, you will be notified via email.
